I don’t know if you’ve read A Woman’s Story by Annie Ernaux but she talks about bringing forsythia to her mothers death bed and now I always see it as this bittersweet bloom of new birth and death; a most fitting burial spot.
Julie, we always seem to be aligned. What a joy that is! A Woman's Story is one of the few Ernaux's I have read but now I feel like I'm due for a reread. First I should probably read The Years which has been sitting on my nightstand for almost a year. So many books and just not enough time! No amount of time would be enough, I fear.
